2008 New Peugeot 407 Coupe Review
The 407 Coupe is the latest addition to the 407 model range and although it is tagged with the same number the similarities just about end there.
The only exterior parts that are shared with the 407 and 407 SW are the mirror housings, every other body panel on the Coupe is new including an aluminium bonnet, a composite boot lid and frameless doors to reduce weight, having said that the Coupe still weighs in at a hefty two tonnes.
Don't be mistaken though, the 407 Coupe is marketed as a grand tourer and grand tourer it certainly is. It will cruise quite happily at speeds that will easily lose your license with only one visit to court, whilst barely registering on the rev counter or giving you any clue with wind or road noise. If you are looking for a car that will eat up motorway miles while you sit in comfort and style, take a long hard look at the Peugeot 407 Coupe.
Safety is always a top priority for Peugeot and the 407 Coupe is no exception, scoring a maximum five out of five stars in its Euro ncap rating, the Coupe is a class leader when it comes to occupant safety, giving you peace of mind when it comes to the safety and security of you and your family.
All 407 Coupe models are well equipped as standard. The Coupe S is the entry level and although this model is only available with the 2.2 litre engine it has 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, xenon headlights, a CD player, a Bluetooth telephone kit, electro-chrome rear view mirror, dual zone climate control, trip computer, tyre pressure sensors, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors and electric windows and mirrors all fitted as standard.
Next up is the Coupe SE, this trim level has the option of all three engines, the 2.2 litre petrol, the 3.0 V6 petrol or the 3.0 litre V6 diesel and it also has 18 inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, electric heated seats, front parking sensors, directional headlights and an up rated stereo system with a six-disc auto changer in addition or replacement to the S model.
Last in the line up is the Coupe GT, only available with the choice of three litre engines the GT benefits from a full colour satellite navigation system, leather dashboard and door panels and MP3 compatible stereo in addition or replacement to the SE level of trim.
