2006 New Volkswagen Jetta Review

The new Volkswagen Jetta is the long awaited replacement for Volkswagens Bora model, launched in early 2006, the new Jetta is Volkswagens answer to the compact saloon market.

With five different engines and three alternative trim levels the Volkswagen Jetta will surely have a combination to fill your needs. Beginning with the entry level Jetta S model, there is a choice of engines either a 1.6 petrol, or a 1.9 diesel, the diesel also has an option of the direct shift gearbox (DSG), standard on the S are 16” Toronto alloy wheels, Climatic semi auto controlled air conditioning, rain sensors, a curtain airbag system in both the front and the rear, Dusk sensor with automatic driving lights and a radio/CD player with four front speakers.

Next up, the Volkswagen Jetta SE, with 16” Atlanta alloy's, cruise control, radio/CD player with eight speakers, comfort seats in the front with height and lumbar adjustment, chrome surrounds on the windows and a leather three spoke steering wheel and gear knob to set it apart from the S. The Volkswagen Jetta SE has a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines, the petrol engines being a 1.6 or a 2.0 litre, the diesels are either 1.9 or 2.0 litre, the 2.0 litre petrol also has a choice of automatic transmission and the diesels have the option of the direct shift gearbox (DSG).

Finally the Volkswagen Jetta Sport, with the sport there are three engines to choose from, a 2.0 litre and 2.0T petrol and a 2.0 litre diesel, again the petrol engines have a choice of manual or automatic transmissions and the diesel the option of the direct shift gearbox (DSG). Standard features on the sport are the 17” classixs alloys, sports suspension and front fog's.
